Etoricoxib is an NSAID reported to be a selective inhibitor of cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2). Etoricoxib selectively inhibits isoform 2 of cyclo-oxygenase enzyme (COX-2). This reduces prostaglandins (PGs) generation from arachidonic acid.
