It is the preparation of hyoscine
butylbromide which is an anticholinergic agent with antispasmodic action on the
smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal, biliary and genitourinary tracts. It
blocks the action of acetylcholine at post-ganglionic parasympathetic nerve
endings and relaxes smooth muscles of the hollow organs of the abdominal and
pelvic cavities.
